Today's Good Morning Saline greeting is from Kim Van Hoek and Karen Delhey, Foundation for Saline Area Schools trustees.

They are inviting residents to attend and support the Read Your Heart Out benefit from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Lake Forest Golf Club, 3310 W. Ellsworth Rd. The benefit is being held to raise money for the foundation's Kids Who Read...Succeed! campaign. The foundation is attempting to raise $70,000 to help Saline Area Schools by new classroom libraries.

The event features a "Taste of Washtenaw," with food served by 10 Saline and Washtenaw restaurants and bakeries. There will be a silent auction that incudes several gift baskets, student-made art, gift certificates and a football signed by Brady Hoke. Pleasant Ridge principal Brad Bezeau will DJ the event. Assistant superintendent Steve Laatsch and art teacher Laura Laatsch will host a game called "Name That Quote," which asks participants to name identify which book a quote is from.

Tickets for the benefit are $50 each or $90 per couple. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Purchase tickets at the foundation's website or at Saline Community Education.

Residents can support the effort by purchasing $50/50 tickets. Each of the 200 tickets for sale costs $100.
