Alicia Ping to Talk About Hoekstra Advertisment on Fox 2 Thursday
Ping will appear on Let It Rip, hosted by Huel Perkins.
Saline resident and Washtenaw County Commissioner Alicia Ping, who received national attention when she criticized an advertisement by fellow Republican and U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra, will appear on Fox 2's Let It Rip, hosted by Huel Perkins, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Ping is expected to talk about the controversial advertisement, featured an Asian actress speaking in broken English. Ping has called the advertisement demeaning and said that because of it, she'd changed her mind about supporting Hoekstra's campaign and would endorse his Republican primary challenger, Clark Durant.
Ping was chair of the Dick Devos gubernatorial campaign in Washtenaw County in 2006. Ping has also appeared on WJR AM 760 to talk about the issue.

Love it when people become concerned about human rights issue only when it directly affects THEIR sensibilities. Take a look at his voting record, Ping should have been unsupportive long before now.

I hope Ping explains, clearly, why she is so upset.
A farm girl in China, walking her bike down a farm road - not speaking with an accent - how would that play? Her accent is not funny, nor negative in anyway - there is no putdown there. (That would defeat her political message anyways - who would do that??)
How should the ad be altered to "not be" offensive?
